Our Story
Rising Sun Animal Rescue was founded in response to a growing need within the local shelter system for responsible, collaborative lifesaving solutions. As shelters face ongoing capacity challenges, many adoptable animals remain at risk simply due to space limitations and limited local placement opportunities.
Recognizing this gap, Rising Sun was created to focus on foster-based rescue and coordinated transport to trusted partner rescues, where animals have increased access to adoption opportunities. By working closely with shelters, foster families, and rescue partners, we help move animals safely through the rescue pipeline while ensuring each animal receives appropriate care and support along the way.
Our approach is intentionally thoughtful and sustainable. We prioritize responsible intake, transparency, and capacity-based decision-making to ensure that every animal we assist receives the care they deserve.
